Event Details

This event aims to raise awareness of quantum computing risks and promote actionable plans for migrating the classical encryption algorithm to quantum safe solutions.

  • Date: 3 Dec 2025, Wednesday

  • Time: 9:30am – 12:30pm

  • Venue: University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, Building no.7, 12th Floor, Room 3

Why PQC Awareness Is Important

The “Harvest Now, Decrypt Later” Threat:

Adversaries are currently collecting encrypted data, planning to decrypt it in the future once powerful quantum computers become available.

Impending Cryptographic Transition:

The NIST PQC standards, finalized in 2024, mark the beginning of a major transition to new, quantum-resistant cryptographic algorithms.

New Vulnerabilities:

Implementing PQC introduces new security considerations and vulnerabilities, particularly regarding side-channel attacks, which are often discussed in seminars.

Compliance and Mandates:

Government mandates, such as those in the US, require federal systems to migrate to PQC, signalling the importance of this transition.

The seminar, “The Quantum Countdown,” aims to raise awareness of quantum computing risks and promote actionable plans for migrating to quantum safe solutions.
