Oracle has announced the End of Public Updates process for Java SE 8, and starting from Java 11, Oracle will provide JDK releases under the open source GNU General Public License v2, with the Classpath Exception (GPLv2+CPE), and under a commercial license for those using the Oracle JDK as part of an Oracle product or service, or who do not wish to use open source software.

Due to the Java Support License changes, i-Sprint bundles Oracle JRE 8 up to AccessMatrix version 5.6.2 only and bundles AdoptOpenJDK 11 from AccessMatrix version 5.6.3 onwards.

The following i-Sprint customers will need to purchase Oracle JRE commercial license separately.

  • For customer who uses AccessMatrix version up to 5.6.2 and if JRE 8 update is required after Oracle Java SE End of Free Public Updates
  • For customer who uses AccessMatrix version 5.6.3 onwards and who does not wish to use open source software under GNU General Public License v2

For further enquiries about Oracle Java SE license, please refer to Oracle Java SE Support Roadmap or contact to Oracle.
